PSIG 42: Thursday February 1st, 2001
Attendance: 6 I discussed software development methodologies. What it is, the pros and the cons, and the different kinds. I focused on the at end on Extreme Programming, the controversial new methodology (though its critics say it's too flexible to even be called a methodology). I like Extreme Programming, but I don't think it works in many situations. Bradley Slavik lead us through make files. He explained why they exists, how they work and their syntax. As a bonus, Bradley gave a real-world example of broken make file, and how he cleaned it up and fixed it. Thursday, February 01, 2001
